The government is committed to delivering a humanitarian response to welcome people fleeing the war in Ukraine and seeking protection in Ireland.
Hundreds of people are arriving to Ireland from Ukraine every day, many of them children.
Already, some schools have welcomed children and young people from Ukraine that have arrived seeking enrolment. The swift response and welcome from school communities is greatly appreciated by the Minister.
This is an evolving situation and the department will continue to communicate with schools and education partners in the coming weeks.
